I led off our bioinformatics seminar course with an overview on why you should use scripting languages to automate biological database access and how to leverage biopython for this task. I gave an interactive media presentation that incorporated visually pleasing slides, interactive graphs, inline external link viewing, and live REPL demos. To do all this, I leveraged a variety of cutting edge javascript and HTML5 libraries.
